Der Sequential Prophet-5 ist ein legendärer, fünfstimmig polyphoner analoger Synthesizer, der 1978 von Sequential Circuits eingeführt wurde. Er war der weltweit erste vollständig programmierbare polyphone Synthesizer mit Speicherplätzen und einem eingebetteten Mikroprozessor.

Historie und Original (1978–1984)

  • Entwickelt von Dave Smith und John Bone.

  • Es gab drei historische Revisionen (Rev 1, Rev 2 mit SSM-Filtern, Rev 3 mit Curtis-Filtern).

  • Insgesamt wurden ca. 6.000 bis 7.000 Einheiten des Originals gebaut.

The Sequential Prophet-5 is a legendary, five-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer introduced by Sequential Circuits in 1978. It was the world’s first fully programmable polyphonic synthesizer with preset banks and an embedded microprocessor.
